Pulao, a small sized dragon lives by the sea and fears whales most. Whenever he's attacked by a whale, he will roar incessantly. Thus, his image was put on bells and the wooden striker are sometimes made into the shape of a whale.
With a great love of fire and smoke, Suanmi was charged with tending to the Eternal Flame. His duties included explaining its importance to children.
His image can be found on the bases of Buddhist images, as well as Buddhist thrones. His image can also be found on the legs of incense burners and the pots or stands that hold incense for religious ceremonies.
QiuNiu is known for his enjoyment of music. His image is usually adorned on instruments. Most commonly on two-string, moon-shaped fiddles and other instruments.
